The first part of the video starts with some basic definitions of Surrealism, then moves onto historical context, and then spends a majority of the time examining the aesthetic characteristics of surrealist painting. The second part of the video introduces the topic of Surrealist cinema by exploring how and why the Surrealist artists were interested in the medium of cinema.
