The following is a presentation and discussion focusing on the Introduction of Alenka Zupančič's What Is Sex? This presentation covers Zupančič's background, three reason to read the text, the analytic approach to philosophy, the status of sexuality for psychoanalysis, the possible dead ends in universal philosophy and psychoanalysis as well as their mutual sublation, as well as the conflict of freedom inherent to libidinal politics/economics. After the presentation we also host a wide-ranging discussion about the importance of the text and its relation to contemporary philosophical and psycho-social issues.
