What’s New vs Older Models:
The LongMill MK3 is the result of 10 years of engineering best practices from both the LongMill and AltMill brands. It was designed to level-up the brand by integrating new technologies, optimizing manufacturability and easing the assembly process. Version highlights include:
- Linear guide rails (HR15) instead of v-wheels (thanks to economies of scale)
- Closed-loop stepper motors instead of open loop (more speed and power)
- ACME lead screw system instead of ball screw system (keeps costs low)
Redesigned SLB-LITE, 32-bit CNC controller (to accommodate gSender and grblHAL updates)
- Re-designed, z-axis detach dust shoe accessory (backwards compatible)

- Cuts materials ranging from softwoods to hardwoods, plastics to foams, and acrylics to even aluminum
- Closed-loop stepper motor system (detects when it loses steps)
- Advanced, production-style features including y-axis auto-squaring and limit switches by default
