The Helios is a new speaker from Fleetwood Sound and OMA. We leveraged our technical know how in speaker acoustics and design, woodworking skills and capacity to create something that’s never existed before: a solid hardwood loudspeaker with beautiful design and even more beautiful sound, in a compact package and at an extremely reasonable price.

The Helios Loudspeaker, named after the ancient god of the Sun, is made of solid 1” thick thermally treated (or “torrefied”) Pennsylvania oak. Similar designs are often described as a “bookshelf” speaker although we don’t suggest you treat it as such. Helios belies its size delivering unbelievable clean sonic output of up to 113dB with a professional 5” coaxial driver that combines woofer/low frequency with a horn loaded compression driver/tweeter.

The Helios offers near full range frequency response (full range with the optional Fundamental Subwoofer also from Fleetwood Sound). This front loaded reflex design makes it easy to place in a room acoustically, and we created three different mounting options (table stand, floor stand and wall mount) to make it a flexible design element in your decor, too. You can also use it as is, without any stand, and an actively amplified version is also available (coming soon). Because it’s an 8ohm speaker it mates well with tube amplifiers of appropriate power rating (minimum 10 watts).
