The Danny Awards is an annual global award show that showcases the musical talents of individuals with disabilities and celebrates differences. This event is the culmination of the hard work and perseverance of talented musicians who submitted performance videos for consideration from across the country and around the globe. The 4th Annual Danny Awards will be hosted on Saturday, November 18th from 4 -6 PM ET at Symphony Space and streamed online. Performances will include the top eleven Award Recipients, Daniel Trush (The Danny Awards namesake) & Gerry Powers, as well as Just Call Me By My Name label artist James Ian. Daniel’s Music Foundation was founded in 2006 by the Trush Family to empower individuals with disabilities through music. Today, we have expanded our programs serving thousands of individuals - both locally in NYC at our 8,700 square-foot music center, and nationally through the DMF Online Community.
Through our Disability Awareness platform, which includes presentations to schools and corporations about differences, our global award show - The Danny Awards, and our new record label - Just Call Me BY My Name, we are challenging stereotypes about individuals with disabilities and working to build a more inclusive society for all.
