In this interview, we meet Steve McClure, one of Petzl's athletes and all-around climber. Steve first got into climbing about 50 years ago, so he's an absolute veteran at the sport by now with half a century of experience under his belt. Steve got the perfect introduction to climbing from his parents, who were both very keen climbers. So from a young age, Steve was up there on the rock with them.
Steve's favourite place to climb is the Verdon Gorge in the south of France. Verdon Gorge is an enormous limestone gorge with some of the most beautiful climbing routes you could imagine. Even after 50 years of climbing with a steady progression, Steve feels he's climbing at his best, even now.
