At the Future Factory conference 2023 in Rome, OneState Embassy Art Collective members Ruth Katz, Inbal Volpo, Natalie Adler-Oppenheim, and Osama Zatar performed Politics of Despair, Politics of Hope and spoke about their artistic and activist practice.
In this interview, they share deeper insights into their work and discuss the performance they presented as part of the Future Factory programme.
Through theatre, installation, and dialogue, the collective explores how art can question political narratives, confront realities of occupation, and open new spaces for coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians.

About the Future Factory 2023:
One of transform!’s main fora of exchange and discussion in 2023 was The Future Factory, held in Rome from 15–18 June.
Over the three-day conference, more than twenty workshops, lectures, plenaries, and performances explored concepts of peace and security that prioritise the safety and wellbeing of people and the planet — not the interests of the arms industry.
The event took place across six locations in Rome: ESC Atelier, Spazio Pubblico CGIL, Communia, ARCI, Sapienza University, and Casale Garibaldi.
It was co-organised and supported by: transform! europe, TNI, RLS, CGIL, ARCI, Communia, ESC Atelier, CLAP, transform! italia, WILPF, IPB, Instituto Democracia y Republica, Iratzar, Casale Garibaldi, Ultima Generazione, Scientist Rebellion, Global Justice Now, and Sapienza University.
