In March 1965, Kit Rollings quit his university music degree to start working at the National Film Unit as a trainee sound person. He stayed on for another 20 years. Over this time he experienced many changes in sound recording technology and worked on some of the NFU's most iconic productions including Freshwater Dive and This is New Zealand.
