Astra interviews the gorgeous and brilliant High Energy Astrophysicist Rebecca Diesing...who she may have been crushing on for years. She's a PhD Candidate studying theoretical astrophysics (cosmic ray acceleration), at the University of Chicago.

Rebecca Diesing uses computer modeling to understand the mechanism responsible for cosmic ray acceleration due to shocks like supernovae. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, running, camping, watching Star Trek, and snuggling with her puppy. Her physics deals with the hottest, most violent explosions in space. Think Supernovae, Active Galactic Nuclei, that time Janeway took out the Borg queen’s transwarp hub...very hot, lots of radiation, much violence, things are...ionized.
