Over the last year, InterSystems has taken part in the leading hackathons around the world, challenging professionals, clinicians, and students to rise to the occasion.
Students competed to develop the best use of InterSystems FHIR cloud services, resulting in over 20 projects.
At HackMIT, the first place team developed Beez, which allowed women to predict and track their reproductive health, and contribute to an anonymous database for healthcare researchers.
In Czech Republic at the European Healthcare Hackathon, the first place team created a mobile app to measure, evaluate, and share heart rate data through a smartphone camera.
The TreeHacks online hackathon by Stanford University yielded Allenu, which scans online menus to detect potential allergens based on the user.
A FHIR Healthtech startup incubator was created in Prague, where 22 startups were selected to build innovations with InterSystems FHIR Cloud Services.
But not only impressive work came out of these hackathons. By hosting, InterSystems has been able to validate our cloud offerings and the developer experience around them. InterSystems also learned of several valuable enhancements to implement, and everyone involved expressed a strong interest in working with FHIR in the future.
