As part of our ongoing #Umngani4Intersex campaign, we are shining a spotlight on the vital laws and policies that exist to protect the rights and dignity of intersex people. Through this campaign, we aim to raise awareness, spark meaningful conversations, and encourage greater understanding and respect for intersex communities everywhere.
The word “Umngani,” which means “friend” in isiZulu, beautifully captures the essence of what this campaign stands for — the power of friendship, solidarity, and true allyship. Being an umngani means standing beside intersex people, listening to their voices, and actively working towards a more inclusive and affirming society.
At Iranti, we proudly embrace our role as both friends and advocates for intersex people. Together, we continue to build a world where every intersex person can live freely, safely, and authentically — surrounded by friends who see, support, and celebrate them.
