So I'm Cruising down the Eisenhower 20 and look right. A MASSIVE PLUM of black smoke rolls up!! I'm first on the scene, you know what I mean. The Oxford Police Dept are behind me and followed me down what used to be a road, but is now closed. They turn around first and beat me there!! Impossible!! I am scene first!! I let it go. I tell myself they need some glory, they need to be there, they are Mississippi's Finest! Then I remember, this is Oxford Alabama, not Oxford Mississippi!
Then I remember a trailer that was abandoned on the side of the road in that town. It sat there a month, flat tire, eyesore, a tragic piece of metal garbage everyone was afraid to touch. So I call the OPD and a 10 year old answers the phone. Being a graduate of the local area, its English was horrific. It has a local PDO meet me on the scene of the "trailer" and I roll up next to it. It rolls down the window, and like something off Star Wars (the first one), it looks at me. I smile and offer it a fresh box of 10 Chicken Minis. It politely, yet smirkely (yes its a word) declines as if I'm trying to bribe it.
I say hey "OPD on the scene dude, that trailer has been there about 3 months, and everyone is afraid to touch it because of the street cams. No one knows if it belongs to the county, the city, the Hwy Dept, or you, so they let it be. It's missing a wheel..."
It interrupts me and belches out, "I caun't letch u git smthin dit aint urine." Noticing its inability to communicate well ( similar to the 5 year old who answers the OPD phones), I smile and drive away and it sits there stunned.
The solution? The savings? Allow an educated adult to answer calls at the OPD. No need to meet @(DN$E^*@Y@^* in a parking lot. My goal was to clean up an eyesore and you know WHUT? It was gone the next day. Chuck n Bubba took it home.
Where were we...oh, the fire. The Oxford Fire Department put it out so fast that everyone in the area ditching work to see it was as disappointed as I was. We all wanted to see it turn into a liquid and roll down the road.
Disclaimer (no idea what that means, just seen it on paper somewhere): The OPD are actually a great group of peeps, I just happened to be assigned one who due to his job, thinks everyone is stupid and trying to scam. My Bride n I chilled w the Mayor at an event I recorded for you all a couple of years ago. Super nice fella!
Another Disclaimer: Although I shoulda, I derdn't use Grammerly to write this.
Oh, after the fire, it was back to the Ham I headed with blue skies ahead, and tornado to my right (that's Alabama).
DOES ANYONE READ VIDEO DESCRIPTIONS? I just realized I only get 5k characters in a video description and I'm at 3276. It's more now, spaces count. Like asphalt and paying taxes, I get my money's worth and drive on both sides of the road.
I heard Stevie Nicks is going to be in Bham. Jason Mraz, Chastain. It's probably spelled wrong. Maybe not, it looks right, or correct, IT'S. Yes, that was right.
It's 3am I must be lonely. I woke up because Geronimo was supposed to let Boots in before she went to bed. She didn't. Not totally her fault, he's like me, if its nice out, he's out. So I go out this morning and look around. There's a big nasty orange stray staring at me. Maybe two r's, not sure. It runs off and I realize my precious Boots is on the roof. Of the House. That's not a complete scentence. That's spelled wrong. I back my Brides G-Wagon out so Boots can jump to the roof on it. He does, I open the camp door, he runs in, gets in his chair, doesn't say thanks, good morning, I love you, anything. At All. I pat him gently and say get some rest, I hate you too.
Wow, we are only at 4265 characters!!! Count them. I'm going to cruise Sloss to see if the flooded underpass is still wet. Water usually is.
OPD if you read this, I'm on ur side. I mean I don't have a black tag on the front of my SUV with a blue stripe (is that still a trend?) but I can get one. Na, they look redic. Even grammerly can spell that correctly. 4675 now.
I'm talking this as I pet Boots, my PC listens. It knows when I mention exercise and shows me ads for biscuits when I do an internet search. So I go get one instead of a gym membership. Did you realize that gym is short for a super long word? 4930 now.
The goal is simply 5k characters. I'm actually waiting for
