Intermissions is a range of Young Film Programmers-focused activities, programmed by Film Hub South East and Reel Connections.
For this Intermissions Industry Session, we spoke with Bryony Forde, Theatrical Sales Director at Altitude Film Entertainment. These sessions are designed to give our Young Film Programmers and others the opportunity to talk directly to people working in the film exhibition sector and related professions, find out more about what their work involves and their career paths so far. In this session, Bryony discussed the role of a film distributor and the process of making a film available to audiences, as well as her own career path and advice for those wanting to work in the sector.
After helping to run her university’s student cinema, Bryony worked for Cinema For All in Sheffield until 2013. Since then she has worked in theatrical sales for independent distributors Icon, STX and Altitude on films including It Follows, The Nice Guys, I Feel Pretty and Horrible Histories.
