The National Intelligence Service assesses that a summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un could happen at any point.
Following its briefing to the Parliamentary Intelligence Committee on Tuesday lawmakers briefed reporters that there are signs of dialogue, despite no confirmed contact.
The agency also secured North Korean missile blueprints and blocked attempts to leak South Korean nuclear reactor designs.
Furthermore, the agency evaluates that Kim Jong-un's daughter, Kim Ju-ae, is now the designated successor.
Lawmakers say the regime is actively using state media exposure to imprint her status on the North Korean public.
This suggests the regime is rushing to solidify internal dynastic control while aggressively leveraging foreign conflicts to refine its espionage operations.
