Matt Frost is the Chairman of the Alliance for Open Media which is the consortium that hosts AV1. AV1 provides better compression and better visuals compared to prior codecs, and it is expected to have rapid adoption in the media ecosystem. Today FFMPEG, Handbrake, Adobe, and Xsplit have already integrated Arc AV1 support.
