The rippled-developed XRPL is a fundamental for securing blockchain transactions efficiently. However, the rise of the quantum computing threatens the cryptographic algorithms the XRPL relies on like secp256k1 and ed25519-donna for securing transactions and validating digital signatures. Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms can break the security of these algorithms. Hence we are proposing integration of post quantum cryptography algorithm : CRYSTALS-Dilithium alongside existing classical algorithms. These algorithms can withstand the quantum attacks and do not affect the performance of the ledger significantly even though they have large key sizes and messages compared to traditional algorithms.
