Wiring the third brake light for a truck cap is not complicated and is a great DIY. Follow this DIY wiring guide and your camper shell brake light will be all set! There is a ground wire and a hot wire. The ground wire can be grounded to the truck body or frame and the positive "hot" wire should be spliced into the hot brake light wire behind the one of the rear tail light covers.
