sudo apt install apache2 mariadb-server mariadb-client -y
# install PHP components
sudo apt install libapache2-mod-php php-cli php-mbstring php-opcache php-json php-ldap php-gd php-xml php-mysql* php-curl php-zip -y
# configure the MySQL database
sudo su
mysql_secure_installation
03. Press Enter to login as root
04. Type Y and press Enter to set a root password, type the password twice to confirm
05. Type Y and press Enter to remove anonymous users
06. Type Y and press Enter to disallow root login remotely
07. Type Y and press Enter to remove the test database
08. Type Y and press Enter to reload privilege tables
09. Run the following command to login into MySQL:
mysql -u root -p
10. Authenticate with the root password set earlier
11. Run the following commands to create the Kanboard database and database user
CREATE DATABASE kanboard DEFAULT CHARACTER SET utf8mb4 COLLATE utf8mb4_unicode_ci;
GRANT ALL ON kanboard.* TO 'kanboard_rw'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'K@nb0r4!';
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
EXIT;
exit
12. Continue with the following commands to download and extract Kanboard in the Apache webroot
# download kanboard
wget -O kanboard.tar.gz github.com/kanboard/kanboard/archive/v1.2.20.tar.gz
# extract kanboard.tar.gz
sudo tar xzvf kanboard.tar.gz -C /var/www/html/
# rename the extracted folder to kanboard
sudo mv /var/www/html/kanboard* /var/www/html/kanboard
# set permissions on the kanboard directory
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html/kanboard
# make a copy of config template
sudo cp /var/www/html/kanboard/config.default.php /var/www/html/kanboard/config.php
# edit config.php
sudo nano /var/www/html/kanboard/config.php
13. Press CTRL + W and search for DB_DRIVER
14. Set the DB_DRIVER value to mysql
15. Set the DB_USERNAME value to kanboard_rw
16. Set the DB_PASSWORD value to K@nb0r4!
17. Press CTRL+O, Enter, CTRL+X to write the changes
18. Continue with the following command
# setup the database schema, authenticate with the root password set earlier
sudo mysql -u root -p kanboard ≪ /var/www/html/kanboard/app/Schema/Sql/mysql.sql
19. Open a web browser and navigate to http://DNSorIP/kanboard
20. Login with the username admin and password admin
21. Click the options carrot in the top right corner ≫ My profile
22. Click Edit profile from the left navigation
23. Change the username and set a name and email as needed ≫ Click Save
24. Click Change password from the left navigation
25. Enter admin as the Current password and enter and confirm a new secure password ≫ Click Save
26. Click the options carrot in the top right corner ≫ Logout
27. Log back in with the updated credentials
28. Welcome to Kanboard

06. Complete the new user form with an email and password ≫ Click Submit
07. Click the Admin tab
08. Click the Add Admin button at the top of the screen
09. Search for and select the the new user ≫ Submit

11. Log back in using the new user credentials

Installing miniPaint
01. Log into the Windows device
02. Download the latest miniPaint release https://github.com/viliusle/miniPaint/releases/latest
03. Download NodeJS https://nodejs.org/en/download/current/
04. Install NodeJS, accepting all defaults
05. Extract the downloaded miniPaint files
06. Rename the extracted folder miniPaint
07. Cut the miniPaint folder to a location it can safely run from, C:Program FilesminiPaint in this example
08. Hold the SHIFT key and right click in the white space ≫ Open PowerShell windows here...
09. Run the following commands in the PowerShell window
# install dependencies
npm install
# build minipaint
npm run build
# run minipaint
npm run server
10. Open a web browser and navigate to http://DNSorIP:8080
11. Welcome to miniPaint
Run miniPaint on System Startup (Optional, but recommended)
01. Press CTRL + C to kill the running miniPaint process
02. Open a text editor and paste the following
:: Start miniPaint server
cd /D %~dp0
start miniPaint /b npm run server
03. Save the file as minipaint.bat in the miniPaint directory, C:Program FilesminiPaint in this example
04. Click on the Start Button ≫ Type task ≫ Launch Task Scheduler
05. Right click the Task Scheduler Library folder in the left pane ≫ Create Basic Task...
06. Set the name to miniPaint and optionally set a Description ≫ Click Next
07. For the Trigger, select When the computer starts ≫ Click Next
08. For the Action, select Start a program ≫ Click Next
09. Complete the form fields as follows:
Program/script: %ProgramFiles%miniPaintminipaint.bat
Add arguments:
Start in:
10. Click Next
11. Check the Open the Properties dialog checkbox ≫ Click Finish
12. In the Properties dialog, click the Change User or Group... button
13. Type System in the Object name field ≫ Click OK
14. Check the Run with highest privileges box
15. Click OK to create the scheduled task
16. Right click the miniPaint task ≫ Run
17. Refresh the open web browser to verify miniPaint is now running from the scheduled task

Table Prefix: mybb_
19. Click Next after the table creation completes
20. Click Next to complete the Table Population
21. Click Next at the Theme Insertion screen
22. Modify the Board Configuration form as needed ≫ Click Next
23. Create an administrator account by entering a Username, Password and Email Address ≫ Click Next
24. Back in the terminal, remove the /install directory with the following command
# remove the install directory
sudo rm /var/www/html/mybb/install -R
25. Back in the browser, navigate to http://DNSorIP/mybb/admin/index.php
26. Login with the administrator username and password created earlier

03. Press Enter to login as root
04. Type Y and press Enter to set a root password, type the password twice to confirm
05. Type Y and press Enter to remove anonymous users
06. Type Y and press Enter to disallow root login remotely
07. Type Y and press Enter to remove the test database
08. Type Y and press Enter to reload privilege tables
09. Run the following command to login into MySQL:
mysql -u root -p
10. Authenticate with the root password set earlier
11. Run the following commands to create the Snipe-IT database and database user
CREATE DATABASE snipe_it;
GRANT ALL ON snipe_it.* to snipe_it_rw@localhost IDENTIFIED BY $nip3-IT!;
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
EXIT;
exit
12. Continue with the following commands:
# clone snipe-it from github
sudo git clone https://github.com/snipe/snipe-it /var/www/snipe-it
# create a copy of the sample .env file
sudo cp /var/www/snipe-it/.env.example /var/www/snipe-it/.env
# edit the .env file
sudo nano /var/www/snipe-it/.env
13. Edit the following environment variables as needed

14. Press CTRL+O, Enter, CTRL+X to write the changes to .env
15. Continue with the following commands:
# set the owner of the snipe-it directory
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/snipe-it
# setup composer working directory
sudo mkdir /var/www/.composer
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/.composer
cd /var/www/snipe-it
# install dependencies with composer
sudo -u www-data composer install no-dev prefer-source
# generate app key, type yes to confirm generating a new key
sudo php artisan key:generate
# create snipe-it apache configuration
sudo nano /etc/apache2/sites-available/snipe-it.conf
16. Paste the following configuration into snipe-it.conf
Alias /snipe-it /var/www/snipe-it/public
≪Directory /var/www/snipe-it/public≫
Allow From All
AllowOverride All
Options -Indexes
≪/Directory≫
17. Press CTRL+O, Enter, CTRL+X to write the changes to snipe-it.conf
18. Run the following command to enable the snipe-it site
# enable rewrite module
sudo a2enmod rewrite
# enable the snipe-it site
sudo a2ensite snipe-it
# restart the apache2 service
sudo systemctl restart apache2

01. Open a web browser and navigate to http://DNSorIP/snipe-it
02. Review the Pre-Flight Checks summary ≫ Click the Next: Create Database Tables button
03. Once the database tables are created, Click the Next: Create User button
