Action cameras are getting incredibly powerful, and that's a huge win for everyone! While many say these cameras aren't for low light, I completely disagree. On trips, runs, or just daily activities, perfect lighting is a myth. That's why I put the brand new DJI Osmo Nano up against the reigning low-light champion: the Insta360 Ace Pro 2!
This head-to-head test was conducted at sunset, pushing both cameras' dedicated low-light modes to their limits.
Here's what I tested:
1.The 'Dark Corner' Challenge (Intro): Starting under a roof with poor lighting, the Ace Pro 2 instantly showed its strength: sharp images and minimal noise. The Osmo Nano was good, but the difference was clear.
2. Vlog Style Test: Walking through the terrain, the Osmo Nano stepped up its game, but the Ace Pro 2 maintained its lead, proving its consistent low-light performance.
3. Stabilization Test: Both cameras performed well here, but once again, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 edged out the competition.
The Verdict: The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is still the undisputed low-light king. However, it's fantastic to see that DJI is taking low-light performance seriously with the Osmo Nano. A few firmware updates could make this competition very interesting!
