Live from the recent BIO International Conference, Insilico Medicine's Chief Business Officer Michelle Chen, PhD, provides an overview of Insilico Medicine – an AI-driven drug discovery company that combines the power of AI and our drug discovery and development expertise. As Dr. Chen explains, Insilico’s end-to-end Pharma.AI platform, “addresses key bottlenecks within drug discovery and development.” The biology bottleneck is addressed by PandaOmics, Insilico’s novel target discovery engine; in the case of chemistry bottleneck, Chemistry42 allows for de novo small molecule drug design; and InClinico is Insilico’s latest AI tool to predict clinical trial success. AI is in the spotlight right now, Dr. Chen says, as it tackles some major hurdles in pharma, including inefficiency and high cost. “With AI’s help, we can be a disruptive force in the industry, and based on our own experience we are able to rapidly develop preclinical candidates.” Leveraging Insilico’s AI platform, Dr. Chen says, the company has developed ~30 internal pipeline programs in disease areas including oncology, fibrosis, inflammation, and central nervous system.
