What does it cost to tell the truth?
This episode examines independent journalism in Uganda, following a local investigative reporter. After witnessing his desperate plea for help, we make an unusual decision: to bring him a new camera. It is a choice that challenges the traditional boundaries of journalism and raises difficult questions about objectivity, responsibility, and what it means to report the truth in countries where press freedom is under constant attack.
Together, we investigate allegations of forced land evictions linked to powerful interests in the Kingdom of Toro, follow the trail of conflicting official accounts, and discover the immense personal sacrifices made by journalists who refuse to stay silent. As intimidation, censorship, and political pressure mount, one question remains: can the truth survive when those in power control the narrative?
This is the story of courage, resilience, and the dangerous reality of investigative journalism in Uganda.
