Discover what makes our Tyrell Gilb Research Laboratory unique. Located in Stockton, California, and named for Tyrell (“Tye”) Gilb, who led our research and development efforts for 35 years, this lab is the hub of our research and testing activities. Every day, our lab crew assembles a number of structural elements in common building applications and then tests each assembly using our lab’s specialized equipment, enabling us to gauge a structure’s precise level of resistance to gravity, earthquakes, high winds and other natural forces. Full-scale buildings and other larger elements are also tested using the lab’s seismic shake table and cyclic/static test frame.
