Moose courtship is a slow, patient affair. When a cow calls, she may attract a dominant bull along with lesser suitors who are too outclassed to compete and can only look on. The ritual between the chosen pair can last up to a week, a kind of honeymoon in which the two moose playfully touch and sniff each other.
