The ITER Vacuum Vessel is a massive stainless steel container made of two walls to house the fusion reaction.
It consists of nine parts known as sectors. Each of them is 6.5 m high, 3 m wide, 6.3 m deep and weighs around 500 t.
Europe is responsible for manufacturing five sectors. Walter Tosto, one of the F4E contractors involved in the manufacturing, has opened the doors of its factory.
