Today, our family adventure leads us to Hoover Dam in Boulder City, Nevada! Built during the Great Depression from 1931 to 1936, this incredible structure first opened its doors on March 1, 1936. Spanning the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, it stands as a concrete arch-gravity dam on the Nevada-Arizona border. Amazingly, the dam's generators power homes in Nevada, Arizona, and California.
