Come take a 360° walk with me around some of the most beautiful—and (from some perspectives) perhaps least-seen—parts of the Christian Tours property in North Carolina.
If you've traveled Highway 16 past Christian Tours, you may have noticed the ponds, little chapel, crosses on the hillside and other features of the property. But what are those areas actually like up close?
On a beautiful late-summer day, I grabbed my Insta360 X6 and took a lunchtime walk around the grounds. We'll cross one of the little bridges to the island, get a look at an egret hanging around the pond, step inside the rustic Christian Tours Wedding Chapel, and visit the interesting Garden Tomb created as a tribute to the resurrection of Jesus.
Along the way, I share a few memories of Christian Tours founders Nancy & Udean Burke, the farm animals, trees, watermelons and cantaloupes that were once part of life around the property—and a little about my own history of working here in the 1990s and returning many years later.
