Ive always known that I should hit this one up, not only because my general aesthetic is that of a preteen goth girl cleaning out all of the Jack Skellington merch from a Hot Topic, but also because this move was genuinely huge for me growing up. Im confident I had seen Nightmare Before Christmas well before any strong memories Ive had leading me to believe this movie influenced me a great deal. Ive always had a taste for halloween styled music and attribute that to why I gravitated toward Avenged Sevenfold so much. I tried to emulate Sevenfold quite a bit in this arrangement.
I went into this cover with confidence, knowing that though I knew it would be difficult with how much it moves, I felt like I could comfortably navigate it and I ended up underestimating it a lot. At first glance its a very similar progressing just played across a few different keys, but very little repeats for very long and the arpeggios and backing lines are relentless. I wanted to do my best to make the fullest and most grand sounding cover of this on YouTube and spent a full day just arranging the orchestra that would take a backseat to the guitars. It was a daunting task and for the first time in a very long time, I started to feel nervous about not finishing it on time.
This year has been weird, painful, and also relentless and I hope that you all can still have a good Halloween. I know this technically isnt a video game song per se, but I figured this would finally be the year to break this one out for all of you. I sincerely hope you enjoy it.

I am singer now.
Honestly, I wouldnt have been this brave to take on something like this if there wasnt so many really nice comments on my last few songs with vocals. You guys have really made me feel more confident in trying to do more of my own vocals and lucky for me, I keep stumbling on songs that I think are slightly more suited to me than other ones Ive tried. Thank you so much for your continued support as I overcome my voice sounds weird to me syndrome.
A few things are new for this video! SUBTITLES! YAY! I baked them in this time mostly inspired by LittleVMills doing it and I hope its cool. Let me know if you like them. The original song is very, um, creatively pronouced, so I thought this was a good chance to try this out.

People always seem weirded out whe I tell them I played X-2 before X even though X is now probably my favorite Final Fantasy. I still remember vividly booting up Final Fantasy X-2 for the first time having no idea what I was in for and in a weird way, this song was the first impression I had of the X and X-2 universe. No wonder young me developed a massive crush on Yuna. Lucky for me, my girlfriend shares my love for FFX so we can do things like this.
Adriana approached me with the idea to do this song a week or two ago after Jackson Parodi had mentioned it to her in a twitch stream. I figured it would be a fun easy song to take on, but I was really suprised at how much tapping and crazy wah stuff would go into it. Even though we started it early, it was really tricky bringing our vision for the song to fruition. I have been really loving the band Passcode over the past year so they were a big inspiration for the sound and style of this one.
