Inside One of the Most Famous HDB Public Housing Blocks in Singapore 🇸🇬
My friend dragged me out to Marine Parade today because he kept talking about how iconic this neighborhood is—and honestly, he wasn't wrong!
​While waiting on our laundry at a local laundromat, we grabbed some food and took a walk around the area. I explored a few of the famous HDB public housing blocks around Marine Terrace to capture the local atmosphere, the coastal breeze, and the everyday life here.
​What makes Marine Parade special:
​Built on the Sea: It's historically famous for being Singapore's very first HDB estate built entirely on reclaimed land back in the 1970s.
​The Coastal Vibe: Located right next to East Coast Park, it blends rich Peranakan culture, legendary food spots, and seaside living.
​The Raw Reality: It's an interesting mix—million-dollar views and prime coastal land combined with aging 1970s HDB blocks and a peaceful, older resident demographic.
​The overall vibe here was super cool and grounded. Hope you guys enjoy this casual walk-through of one of Singapore's most famous coastal estates!
