Last month NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View California gave a handful of creators a tour of its facilities, showing off a number of cool.... and hot technologies. One of the tours covered the Thermal Protection Materials labs which have been working on heat shielding technology for decades, this is the place that the heat shielding using on the Space Shuttle, Orion, Dragon, Starliner and other spacecraft was originally developed.
