Step with me into Kew Gardens, one of the most extraordinary botanical collections on Earth — a living library where plants from every corner of the world grow side by side.
In this Herbal Jedi journey, we explore not just the beauty of Kew, but the stories the plants carry: stories of healing, resilience, adaptation… and the complex history of how plant knowledge has moved across the globe.
Together we will explore the flower gardens, ancient trees, cactuses, succulents, orchids, water lilies, and many of the other 50,000+ plants that are growing here at Kew.
Each one of these plants has a teaching, a personality, and a wisdom waiting to be met.
In this video, we also take a moment to acknowledge the deeper truth:
That herbalism and botanical science were intertwined with colonial expansion — both preserving and suppressing Indigenous and local healing traditions.
And yet, these traditions endure.
The plants endure.
There are aspects of Kew Gardens that represent herbalism on a planetary scale:
protecting biodiversity, preserving plant knowledge, and reconnecting humans with the ancient green web that sustains us all.
