Today we’re taking our blue Scania somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for years—@theinternationalmotors state-of-the-art engine assembly plant in Huntsville, Alabama!
While our Scania is powered by its legendary V8, International’s new S13 inline-six shares its engineering heritage with Scania and MAN through the TRATON Group. That made this the perfect opportunity to see how one of the most advanced heavy-duty diesel engines in North America is built.
During this exclusive factory tour, we got to see every stage of production, from robotic machining and precision assembly to the extensive testing and quality control that goes into every S13 engine before it leaves the plant.
One of the biggest highlights was getting an exclusive look at International’s upcoming EPA 2027 prototype engine and learning about the next generation of diesel technology before it reaches the road.
To make the visit even more special, the incredible men and women who build these engines had the chance to see our blue Scania in person. It was awesome sharing the truck with the people who work every day on an engine platform that traces its roots back to Scania engineering.
A huge thank you to International Motors for opening their doors, giving us behind-the-scenes access to this amazing facility, and making us feel welcome throughout the tour. Experiences like this don’t happen every day, and we’re excited to bring all of you along.
If you enjoy diesel engines, trucks, factory tours, and seeing how modern technology comes together, make sure to subscribe and let us know where we should go next!
