We’re breaking down Dalhousie University’s Diagnostic and Clinical Pathology (DCP) residency, a five-year RCPSC-accredited program that equips you to become a versatile clinical pathologist.

You’ll see how the program blends anatomical and clinical pathology, starting with a clinical-heavy PGY-1, then moving into a broad range of rotations, including surgical, cytopathology, autopsy, hematopathology, chemistry, microbiology, molecular pathology, and more. Residents train across Halifax and community sites in the Maritimes, gaining hands-on experience in lab management, research, and conference presentations.

It’s intense, varied, and supportive. By the end, DCP grads are ready, whether they choose community hospitals or subspecialty careers.
