In this video we visit Agco Power's engine factory in Linnavuori to see how diesel engine cylinder blocks and cylinder heads are made on almost fully automated machining lines.
The engines aren't quite as big as the ones at Konepaja Häkkinen, but a staggering 30,000 of them are built every year.
We see a €20+ million FMS system, robots, 12 machining centers, cylinder honing, a 900-bar wash, coordinate measurement, and a brand-new cylinder head line that was shipped to Finland on 38 trucks.
The video also features our partner Savon Automaatio, whose Flexel robot cell shows how machine tending can be easily automated on a smaller scale as well.
In the next part we'll go see how these machined parts are assembled into a complete engine.
