Inside a CHEAP PIZZA SHOP New York City
*đ„ Camera I use for filming â amzn.to/4rPWmtD
Step inside one of New York Cityâs most surprising pizza finds. In this episode of NYC Pizza Slices, I visit an unassuming storefront on 43rd Street right near Grand Central Terminal that boldly advertises â$1.50 FRESH PIZZA.â In a city where slice prices keep climbing, a $1.50 slice almost feels impossible, but this spot has quietly been serving commuters and tourists for 20 years.
When I walk in, we immediately run into a little controversy. I order a $1.50 cheese slice and ask the worker to heat it up. He insists it just came out of the oven. But after a previous experience at another $1.50 pizza spot where the same claim turned out not to be true, I decide to play it safe and ask again for the slice to go back in the oven.
While the pizza reheats, I show you the inside of this no-frills neighborhood pizza shop and chat with the worker about how the place has managed to stay in business for two decades in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.
Then itâs time for the official NYC slice review. I head outside and rate the pizza across four categories:
Temperature
Walkability (how easy it is to juggle the slice while walking the streets of NYC)
Overall taste
Value
Does a $1.50 slice still hold up in New York City? And is this hidden Midtown spot actually worth visiting?
Watch to see the final score and whether Iâd come back again.
Iâm Matt, and this is Ambient New York.
See you on the next episode.
If you enjoyed the video, let me know in the comments what NYC spot I should explore next.
