Inman Yard in Atlanta Georgia, is the largest of four primary hubs owned by Norfolk Southern Railway. Norfolk Southern's first predecessor, the South Carolina Canal & Rail Road Company was formed in 1827. Inman Yard was built by Southern Railway in 1957. It receives and departs over 1,000 cars daily. Almost all of Norfolk Southern's freight to Georgia, the Carolinas, and Florida goes through Inman.
