Who knew our favorite artist's pens had such an ink-credible history? 🥁

Okay, okay—but seriously. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the sheer variety of ink types out there, this story might draw you in 😮‍💨

While all inks are essentially a mix of color dissolved or suspended in a liquid, the materials used to create them make all the difference ✒️

If you want an ink that’s waterproof, permanent, intense, and opaque, pigment-based ink is your go-to. Instead of dissolving in liquid (like dyes), pigment-based inks contain superfine particles that disperse through the carrying medium—giving them the rich, light-blocking quality artists and writers have loved for centuries.

Questions? Thoughts? Ink-related puns you’ve been dye-ing to share? Tell us in the comments!
