Nylon is a thermoplastic, silky material, first used commercially in a nylon-bristled toothbrush in 1938. The most famous use of nylon is women's stockings "nylons". Today nylon fibers are used in many applications, including clothes, bridal veils, package paper, carpets, musical strings, pipes, and rope etc.
