Avant-Garde Death Metal duo Ingurgitating Oblivion have shared the following statement:
In 2024, we released our album Ontology of Nought. From the very beginning, it proved to be an unusually demanding undertaking, particularly when it came to shaping the final mix—one of the most intricate challenges we have encountered throughout our nearly three decades as a band.
The recording process brought together vibraphone, various flutes, singing bowls, piano, spoken word passages, clean vocals, and delicate harmonic structures, all interwoven with densely layered compositions. The resulting sonic constellation was as fascinating as it was formidable. We understand that the album’s distinctive character was not universally accessible. While some listeners embraced its atmosphere and unconventional production, others found it less immediately approachable. Even so, we have always regarded the original version as something singular, honest, and deeply meaningful.
As time passed, however, we began to feel that the work still held unrealised potential—as though certain contours of the music had yet to emerge fully from beneath its own density. This prompted us to revisit the material and approach the mix once again with fresh ears and renewed attention.
Our intention is not to revise the past, but to present the album from a different perspective. Each of the five compositions that make up the record will be released individually in a newly remixed form, accompanied by a video reflecting the atmosphere and emotional landscape we associate with each respective piece. These releases will appear sequentially, with intervals of approximately two to three weeks between them.
Once all five videos have premiered on YouTube, the complete remixed version of the album will also become available across all major streaming platforms.
This undertaking should not be understood as a rejection of the original release. Rather, it is an invitation to encounter the music anew—to allow its inner structures, textures, and subtleties to unfold with greater clarity, depth, and presence.
