Florida's chief financial officer also serves as the state fire marshal and oversees billions of dollars in taxpayer assets.

They manage state finances, root out fraud, increase transparency, and support first responders. The CFO is also one of three elected members of the Florida cabinet, including the attorney general and agriculture commissioner.

Republican incumbent Blaise Ingoglia won the ticket tonight. Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed him to the position last year. Ingoglia led the statewide DOGE efforts, trying to root out wasteful spending in cities and counties across Florida.

Annette Taddeo and Earle Ford ran on the Democratic ticket. Taddeo won the nomination. She was a member of the Florida State Senate from 2017 to 2022, where she served on the Banking and Insurance Committee. She's also been a small business owner for more than 30 years.
