Another excellent performance by Ingfried Hoffmann's Big Band called "Crazy Cats". I got this from a November 1966 concert for NDR's Jazzworkshop which features Volker Kriegel, Manfred Schoof, Gerd Dudek, and other jazz musicians (full concert linked in comments). Composed by Ingfried Hoffmann.
This song is packed with greatness and is super catchy, containing CRACKING solos from trumpeter Manfred Schoof and saxophonist Gerd Dudek. It's got smooth bass from Helmut Kandelberger as well. Not to mention Ingfried Hoffmann's MASTERFUL piano skills too.
A little side note: The more I've listened to Hoffmann's work inside and outside of Sesamstraße, the more I've noticed how inspired Sesamstraße songs are from these jazz songs. SS songs that got new instrumentals like Surprise, No Matter What, Up and Down, all of these have traits that resemble that jazzy-big-band sort of feel.
