Higher education plays an important role in propelling equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives forward. Hear from Shawn(ta) Smith-Cruz, associate dean for Teaching, Learning, and Engagement at New York University, as she discusses ways to critically integrate gender and sexuality to our instruction and scholarship. She’ll also demonstrate how to use primary source archives to help students in their research around social justice issues, especially in today’s remote learning environment. Phil Virta, Gale’s acquisitions editor, will also discuss key primary source collections that help students tackle critical conversations and today’s debates. In addition, Professor Kristen Duncan from Clemson University’s School of Education will discuss her approach to teaching future educators about cultural diversity.
