Orpheum recently sent me his latest album. When I heard the track "The Wolves are Coming" I instantly thought of this colouring method. I particularly like the 2nd half of this zoom. A different mood and speed than usual. I hope you like the collab. Enjoy!

$Merry Christmas 2019 - A Mandelbrot Fractal Zoom Wishing all the people of Maths Town a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. You have all made this a wonderful little part of the Internet, and your constant support is most appreciated! For this years Christmas video I was inspired by Candy Canes. The tube colouring has been by far the biggest hit of the year on this channel, so I thought it was appropriate to finish of the year with this design. The year started out a bit grim, after getting dropped by YT, but the many Patreons who opt to buy me a coffee each month kept the channel running. This video would not be here if it was not for you guys supporting the channel. Anyways, after an apology from YouTube and a lot of time with a c++ compiler, I have been able to finish the year strongly, producing fractal zooms in the unique Maths Town style. This fractal zoom has no clever lighting or colouring effects, it just uses the normal escape time colouring that you have seen 1000 times before. However this is not the Mandelbrot Set, rather its beautiful sister the Perpendicular Mandelbrot fractal, which has some beautiful shapes and unusual symmetry. I hope you dont mind me publishing the experimental stuff, but I know a few Patreons have been waiting for this. Ive lots of requests to make the fractals respond to audio, and Ive finally got it working. Now that is possible to control most parameters based on audio, there are several interesting possibilities for musicians trying to generate visuals. This video is not perfect, but the proof of concept is there. It is the last main feature I wanted to add to my little After Effects plug-in before I get is published on the website.
