When Resistance Retribution launched as a PSP classic on PS4 and PS5 it included the option to use the Dual Shock 3 controller scheme, but it lacked the bonus "infected mode" content.
Poking around with a CFW PS4, it seems that the developers of this release were testing including the infected mode. The emulator includes specific commands to enable it at run time, although there is - unsurprisingly - no way to toggle it from the user menu. It is unclear how feature complete it is, or what issues it may have. Perhaps there is a chance that this will be included in a future patch for the game.
Relevant PSPHD commands.
Turn on infected mode:
--enable-infected-mode=1
Turn off Dual Shock 3 control scheme (and enable right stick re-mapping):
--enable-resistance-retribution-plus-mode=0
--userui-psp-right-stick-remapping=1
