Zeke reveals that the Militia stole a nuclear weapon and plans to use it against the Beast, so Cole races through hostile waters under heavy fire to deliver and fire the missile. Although the strike appears to work at first, the Beast endures, leaving Cole and Zeke battered and more determined to confront the growing threat directly.

With the Beast pressing closer, Cole heads into the Gas Works to restore power only to be confronted by Bertrand, who tries to manipulate Cole into an uneasy alliance before being rebuffed. Cole’s refusal deepens the conflict, making it clear that he must face the Militia and the Beast on his own terms.

As Bertrand escalates his plans, Cole investigates a series of mysterious warehouses in the Gas Works and battles his way through hostile forces in search of a hidden Blast Core. After defeating formidable enemies, including a Titan, he uncovers evidence of Bertrand’s intention to supply “forced conduits” — enhanced soldiers and monsters — to the highest bidders, revealing a global threat beyond New Marais.
