Cole meets Zeke on a rooftop overlooking Fort Philippe, where they determine that the device used on Kuo is being transported and will likely end up inside the fort. After absorbing a new Blast Core, Cole collapses and awakens the next day with enhanced abilities, including improved mobility and precision attacks. Shortly after, Nix invites him into the bayou, where she reveals her tragic past: Bertrand once activated a Ray Sphere in her community, killing everyone she knew and leaving only her and Bertrand alive.
Returning to the city, tensions rise between Kuo and Nix over what to do about the Power Transfer Device. Kuo insists it must be destroyed, while Nix argues they should keep it. With neither option possible without backup, Cole sides with Kuo’s more strategic approach, helping deliver medical supplies to the Rebels to secure their trust and support. After defending their hideout from Militia retaliation, an alliance is formed to storm Fort Philippe.
Cole, Kuo, Nix, and the Rebels launch a full assault on the fort, battling through heavy resistance, turrets, minigunners, and mortar fire. When the Militia cut the power to stall Cole, he restores electricity and continues the push. Fighting alongside both Kuo and Nix, Cole helps dismantle the fort’s defenses piece by piece, clearing the way to finally secure the stronghold and move closer to the Power Transfer Device.
