One of my favorite demonstrations for inertia, A 6 pound bowling ball has two eye hooks screwed into it on opposite ends. A short string is then used to suspend the ball, a second short string is tied to the bottom. WIth a little practice, it is possible break either the top support string or the bottom string simply by pulling down slowly or quickly with a high degree of accuracy. It is possible to even double or triple the bottom string
