Madison College students, in collaboration with industry leaders Rockwell Automation and PTC, have successfully upgraded the Ferris Wheel Industrial Automation Training System. This innovative project integrates cutting-edge Industry 4.0 technologies, including IIoT and Augmented Reality (AR), to create a Smart Manufacturing experience for future technicians.

Through upgraded drives, PLCs, and edge-based computing capabilities, the system now supports IoT connectivity and AR-enhanced troubleshooting. With AR headsets, students can visualize equipment malfunctions, monitor real-time operating parameters, and follow guided repair processes. This hands-on experience prepares them for the rapidly evolving manufacturing floor of tomorrow.
