STORYLINE:
In Ecuador, Indigenous leader Leonidas Iza registered Wednesday his presidential candidacy for the 2025 Presidential Elections.

He announced he was standing on a platform that was "anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-patriarchal".

He registered alongside his candidate for vice-President Katiuska Molina.

Iza is running for the Presidency for the first time under the banner of the Indigenous movement Pachakutik.

Iza registered his presidential candidacy on the last day of the deadline. Amongst his main rivals are the incumbent president, Daniel Noboa.
