The Indigenous Climate Action (ICA) in Canada is a climate justice organisation, building the capacity for Indigenous communities to be climate champions.
Indigenous communities are the first to be impacted by climate injustice but the last to be considered. Due to Indigenous peoples' connection with nature, these communities are often the first to find positive climate solutions and adaptations to climate change. Scientists have recently proved that when indigenous people care for their land there is greater levels of biodiversity.
The ICA are building an Indigenous knowledge database, to make these climate mitigation solutions relatable to local communities but also to the global public.
