Bob The Bookerer | Indiecember- A Month of Small and Indie Presses @BobTheBookerer | Uploaded November 2023 | Updated October 2024, 28 minutes ago.
Hello, I'm Bob, and along with loving the pun, for the last few years, I have been using December as the month where I finally turn to the growing pile of books from those finest of presses- indies.
Small and independent presses are some of the finest contributors to the literary scene, whether in terms of championing new and experimental writing and writers, or by encouraging us to broaden our horizons.
Similarly, independent bookshops are often at the hearts of communities, and do a fantastic job of encouraging some of the best voices to make their ways to readers.
For Indiecember, there are no prompts, just an encouragement to support the independent presses and bookshops that shape our communities.
Books Mentioned:
Adam Biles- Beasts of England (Galley Beggar Press)
Nathan Evans- One Last Song (Inkandescent Press)
Maithreyi Karnoor- Sylvia (Neem Tree Press)
Hanna Komar- Ribwort (3 Times Rebel Press)
Hannah Stoltenberg- Near Distance (tr. Wendy H Gabrielsen) (Weatherglass Books)
